Planter System has secured funding for technology development

The Planter System, developed by our company AGRI4ZERO P.S.A., has received funding under an initiative implemented by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP) – as part of the European Funds for Eastern Poland 2021–2027 (FEPW) program.

  • Project Name: Planter – an IoT-based system in the Agriculture 4.0 framework for spatial monitoring and mapping of crop parameters.
  • Program: European Funds for Eastern Poland 2021–2027 – Entrepreneurship and Innovation
  • Measure: FEPW.01.01 Startup Platforms for New Ideas Component IIa – support for the development of startup business activities.
  • Total Project Value: 689,794.00 PLN
  • Total value of eligible project expenses: PLN 646,600.00
  • Grant: PLN 549,610.00
  • Implementation period: 12/01/2025 – 11/30/2026

How did we secure this funding?

At the turn of 2024–2025, we participated in the “Eastern Business Accelerator 2” startup platform. Only ideas that successfully completed the one-year incubation process were eligible to apply for funding— our product ranked among the top startups.

Completing the incubation process paved the way for us to submit an application under Component IIa and secure the funding.

What will we use the funding for?

We are continuing development work and testing of the hardware platform, sensors, and software. We are developing, among other things, wireless measurement arrays with LoRa connectivity, solar panel power supply, an edge computing approach (where some calculations are performed locally—without the need for internet access), and spatial data visualization.

What does this mean for Planter users?

Planter will begin operations in greenhouses, fields, and gardens! It will monitor environmental parameters and help optimize crops (greenhouses, polytunnels, vertical farms, and home gardens).

We aim to use precise sensors to reduce losses and manage crops “data-driven,” including through real-time monitoring and targeted alerts. By optimizing processes (e.g., watering, ventilation, and lighting), the system has the potential to deliver up to 20% savings in water and electricity and significantly reduce the use of agricultural chemicals.
